Pediatric OT services focused on incorporating developmental skills, sensory integration, and training of daily activities through a child’s main occupation, play. Services that are offered to our pediatric clients include:
• Neuro-based services for pediatrics with functional limitations due to a history of CVA, SCI, TBI
• ADL training (training within toileting, grooming/hygiene, oral care, dressing)
• Developmental delay
• Gross motor functioning (balance, trunk stability, functional mobility
• Fine motor functioning (deficits within strength, dexterity, coordination of fingers/hands)
• Sensory integration
• Emotional regulation and sensory diet implementation for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Time management, organizational and planning skills for children with Attention Deficit Disorder
OT services for the adult population typically focus on helping an individual regain strength or the functional ability to return to daily responsibilities, or learn strategies to adapt and improve a current method of completing a responsibility to ensure independence or participation. Services offered to our adult clients include:
• Neuro-based services for adults with functional limitations due to a history of CVA, SCI, TBI (can include visual perceptual/motor training, mobility training, neuro reeducation with use of upper extremity) and neuro-degenerative diseases (Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis)
• Fall prevention training for high risk aging adults (recent falls, recent injury from fall, vision loss, balance deficits, neuropathy, high risk home environment)
• Deconditioned/age-related weakness, frailty within adult populations
• Gross motor impairment (walking, bed mobility, use of DME for mobility purposes)
• Fine motor impairment (deficits within strength, dexterity, coordination of fingers/hands. No splinting services or post op care at this time.)
• ADL training (training within toileting, grooming/hygiene, oral care, dressing)
• IADL training (medication management, cooking/meal preparation, laundry, money management, communication management/use of technologies)
• Functional cognition training (executive function, judgment, memory, problem solving, planning, etc. in relation to completing daily tasks).
• DME/Adaptive equipment education (DME for success at home, mobility devices, wheelchair use training)
